Watch: What If the Next MINI Countryman Looked Like a MINI?

Recently we wrote about how the Countryman has never really looked like a MINI with its aggressive face and angular headlights. So we decided to take matters into to our own hands and imagine what the next generation Countryman might look like if it actually looked like a MINI. Then we went further and created a full video with even more renders.

Surprisingly no Countryman has ever really worn the hatch’s round headlights, not the R60, not the F60, and the current U25 pushes furthest from that look yet with a fully angular face. We rendered what a more Cooper-like Countryman could actually look like instead, sharper surfacing, round lamps, still every bit the ALL4 crossover underneath, in two sizes, one matching the U25’s current footprint and one stretched longer.

We also get into the timing. The current U25 isn’t getting a full redesign anytime soon, it’s due for a lighter, design-driven LCI in late 2027 or early 2028, with the real ground-up rethink landing on the NE5’s timeline. And MINI’s own head of design, Holger Hampf, has already signaled a more retro direction for the next Cooper hatch that could eventually work its way to the Countryman too.
