DimON Опубликовано Жалоба Share Опубликовано MINI sales are up for the year but saw a slight decline in Q3. The brand delivered 220,247 vehicles worldwide in the first nine months of 2026, up 6.8%, which makes it the only one of BMW Group’s four brands still growing this year. The catch sits inside the quarter: Q3 deliveries came in at 70,712, down 2.4%. It also beat the BMW brand in Q3, even while declining. Why MINI is growing BMW credits the John Cooper Works models and the MINI Paul Smith Edition for the positive trend. That is a revealing answer: the growth drivers named are a performance trim and a special edition, not a new platform. It fits what we have been covering about MINI turning special editions into drops, though the release does not say how much each contributed. The other number worth stopping on: 37.2% of MINI’s year-to-date deliveries were fully electric. That works out to roughly 82,000 cars, and about a quarter of the BMW Group’s 314,552 battery electric deliveries from a brand that is around 13% of its volume. The group as a whole sits at about 18.4% battery electric. Both of those are my arithmetic from the release, not figures BMW stated. The electric side of the range runs through the J01 Cooper EV and the J05 Aceman, plus the Countryman SE. The slowdown inside the growth Year to date, MINI is up 6.8%. In Q3 it was down 2.4%. Those two numbers cannot both describe the same trend, and the math says the first half was far stronger. Backing out the prior-year figures from the rounded percentages, the first half of 2026 comes to roughly 149,500 deliveries, up about 11.8%, which means the brand has swung from double-digit growth to a small decline in a single quarter. That is derived arithmetic, so treat the exact figures as approximate. The direction is not in doubt. MINI’s lead over the rest of the group is also narrowing: it was growing in double digits, and now it is merely falling less than the others. What the release does not tell us The regional table covers BMW and MINI combined, so there is no MINI-specific split for Europe, China or the Americas. The combined China region fell 24.8% in Q3 and 21.8% year to date, but it is dominated by BMW volume, so it says little about how MINI is faring there. Europe was up 2.7% in Q3 and 4.5% year to date, which hints at where MINI’s strength lies without proving it. There is no model-level breakdown either. BMW mentions the Countryman Untamed Edition as a source of future momentum, but gives no figure for any specific car. What to watch Q4 brings the first full quarter of the Countryman Untamed Edition, and BMW’s October decision on where the next Cooper EV will be built. Then there is the 2027 refresh, which will show whether the first half’s pace was a peak or a baseline. For now, the numbers say MINI is growing faster than anything else BMW Group owns, and that the growth rate is slowing.
