MINI USA and the MINI John Cooper Works Team are prepping for another season in the esteemed Touring Car (TC) and Touring Car A (TCA) classes of the 2024 SRO TC America series. The team will be campaigning several F56 MINI Cooper JCW models looking to once again take some titles.

You can watch the team’s two races over the weekend on Saturday and Sunday below:

Back in the driver’s seats are Cristian Perocarpi, piloting the #37 MINI JCW PRO in the TC class, and P.J. Groenke, driving the #62 MINI JCW in the TCA class. Joining the ranks this season is newcomer Scott Thomson, steering the #66 MINI JCW PRO in the TC class.

Adding to the excitement, MINI USA and the MINI JCW Team will unveil a special rooftop graphic series, debuting a fresh design on the roof of Perocarpi’s #37 MINI JCW PRO at each race weekend. To kick off the series, Perocarpi’s ride will pay homage to the 60th anniversary of MINI’s triumph at Monte Carlo in 1964. Recognized for their iconic white roofs, MINI vehicles continue to offer roof graphics and multi-tone options, allowing owners to personalize their rides.

This season also marks the return of the MINI Technician Race Crew Program. Throughout the race weekends, MINI dealer technicians will provide invaluable support to the team during practice, qualifying, and race days. Drawing from their expertise gained from working on MINIs daily, these technicians play a crucial role in the team’s success. Last season, the team garnered support from over 20 skilled MINI dealer technicians and earned the esteemed title of Crew of the Year, as voted by the series’ credentialed participants and competitors.

This weekend, the team will be bolstered by four MINI dealer technicians, hailing from MINI of Hawaii, MINI of Stevens Creek, and MINI of Portland.Luis Perocarpi, team owner of LAP Motorsports, expressed his anticipation for the upcoming season, stating, “We are looking forward to another great season in the SRO TC America series.

Building on the momentum of last season, which saw 21-year-old Clayton Williams clinch his first Driver’s Championship in the TC class, the team aims to replicate their success. Perocarpi, then 20, secured seven podium finishes in the #37 MINI JCW PRO last season, including second-place finishes at both Circuit of the Americas and Road America. Meanwhile, veteran driver Groenke captured three podiums in the #62 MINI JCW in the TCA class, including a memorable victory at Virginia International Raceway.The MINI JCW Race Team concluded the 2023 SRO TC America Series as runners-up for both the Manufacturer’s Championship and Team Championship, setting the stage for an electrifying 2024 season.
