Debut: All-Electric Classic Mini eMastered by David Brown Automotive

David Brown Automotive has a history of producing incredible quality resto-mod classic Minis in the style of the mythical Singer Porsches. But what we have here is something truly incredible. Today the brand is announcing that it’s getting into the EV business with the all electric Classic Mini eMastered.

We’ve showed you and even review electric Classic Minis before – even the official kit from Mini, but we’ve never seen anything quite like this. David Brown Automotive has reimagined the classic Mini as a full EV with every detail rethought and re-engineered.

Classic Mini eMastered Performance

The Classic Mini eMastered has been engineered to be primarily an urban vehicle and thus has a range of over 110 miles from its 18.8kWh battery.

The feather-light 640kg Mini eMastered – the same weight as an original ICE car – has a compact, power dense Zonic 70 motor emitting 72kW (97hp) and 175Nm of instantly accessible torque. Mini eMastered does 0-62mph in 8.5 seconds and runs on to an (electronically limited) top speed of 92mph when in sports mode.

Thanks to its light weight and powertrain efficiency, Mini eMastered delivers a WLTP certified range of 110 miles from its small 18.8kWh battery. Capable of up to 6.6kW AC charging via a charging port housed in the same location as the original fuel filler outlet, the battery can be replenished in just 3 hours* using a typical home wall box charging point or a dedicated electric charging point (*charge point dependent).

Personnalisation

The charm of the classic Mini is all here but reimagined with meticulously design detail. David Brown Automotive retains its iconic silhouette while enhancing ever touchpoint.

Every Classic Mini eMastered takes its cues from a donor body, which is hand crafted in classic coach-building methods. Built entirely in Silverstone, England, the car’s design is only limited to the imagination of its owner.

As with the standard ICE car, this new EV embraces new technologies for such as integrated infotainment system, featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
